In the UK, someone develops dementia every three minutes. We are Alzheimer’s Society; we provide a vital source of support and a powerful change for everyone affected by dementia. For 2022 the charities’ critical goal is to support people who are newly diagnosed with dementia, our aim is help with support management of diagnosis and to enable a better way of life.
Dementia is a complex condition and has lack of treatments, there is a postcode lottery for care that means some people with a diagnosis and their families are not able to access the right support they require. Too many people are facing dementia alone, so many find it difficult to figure out who to turn to for support and guidance.
The solution is to provide a wide range of support services to ensure that nobody must face it alone. Together, with your support, we can provide local support services across England, Wales, and Northern Island. These services include dementia cafés, online forums, dementia advisors, support workers and who provide support to families and carers.
We are absolutely delighted that Alzheimer’s Society, has been named as the official charity partner of this year’s British Wills and Probate Awards. Every day, we are fighting to improve conditions, increase inclusion, better care, and invest in the brightest researchers. We provide help, we support people affected by all types of dementia through some of the hardest and most frightening times. Whoever you are, whatever you’re going through, you can turn to us for practical advice, emotional support, and guidance to the best next step. By supporting Alzheimer’s Society, you could have a truly transformative impact for people affected by dementia. Together, with supporters like yourselves we will make sure people living with dementia and their carers live more fulfilled and less fearful lives, free from stigma and inequality.
